There's room for debate about whether people would pay much attention to Umi no Yeah!! if their frontwoman, actress Tomoko Shimozaki, didn't have a penchant for performing in a bikini. But she does, so we'll stop asking awkward questions and just have a good oggle. Since starting out as a duo between Shimozaki and Kirihito's Ken Takehisa, the self-described 'tropical noise unit' have incorporated a drummer and additional noise-maker to add beef to their scrappy performances. Fresh from a European tour that took in dates in Lyon, London and Bratislava, they're hosting a bizarre homecoming party in Tokyo, where all of the guest musicians are listed as 'baito' (part-time workers). Assuming this doesn't mean that they'll actually be working behind the bar, you can look forward to appearances by turntablist L?K?O, cellist Hiromichi Sakamoto and vocoder-abusing dance-hop unit Luvraw + BTB & Mr. Melody, plus others.
