Following tie-ups with Pokémon, Sailor Moon and a multitude of other A-list characters, Tokyo's themed pop-up eatery scene is finally getting the ultimate short-term café. Funassyi, the unofficial but very much de facto mascot of Chiba's Funabashi City, has lent its face, form and hyper mannerisms to treats like curry, burgers and limited-edition merchandise available only at Shibuya Parco's seventh-floor Funassyi Café. A repeat from last year, when some enthusiasts queued for up to ten hours (!) for a chance to try the pear fairy's yummy delights, this one looks to be a surefire hit once again.
