Serge Gainsbourg Night 2011

Sun Apr 3, 2011 SuperDeluxe
Maki Nomiya

Time Out says

Whether you prefer to remember him as a bug-eyed, amoral womanizer or a musical genius, there's no denying that Serge Gainsbourg continues to influence, two decades after his death from a heart attack in 1991. Japan has a particular soft spot for the Great Gaul, and a rag-tag bunch of musicians will be assembling at SuperDeluxe this weekend to commemorate the 83rd anniversary of his birth. Former Pizzicato Five vocalist Maki Nomiya heads up a bill that also includes chanson singer Reiko Sakai and endearingly weird troubadour Katan Hiviya, as well as sommelier Mikiko Noda.
