Ginza's 'rice lifestyle' shop Akomeya Tokyo moves beyond its grainy speciality this summer, serving up gourmet kakigori made with natural ice (frozen spring water, that is) from Nikko. The silky smooth piles can be topped with either strawberry, mango, matcha or azuki bean syrup – you can choose two of your favourite flavours with every serving. Do make a point of heading over early though, as these delicacies can well sell out before closing time.
