The art of typography evens the equation of form over function, crafting words into a design that is equal parts catchy and communicative. The Typography Poster Exhibition held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum highlights both the precision and pop aesthetics of poster design throughout the 20th century (1900’s-1990’s). With 110 posters on display, the exhibition ranges both globally and artistically, featuring both Japanese and international artists such as Russian constructivist El Lissitzky and the Swiss graphic design great, Max Huber.
