Miyakejima University Magazine – Public Seminar

Sat Oct 4, 2014 3331 Arts Chiyoda 3F Tokyo Culture Creation Project Room 302

Time Out says

Familiarise yourself with the Miyakejima-based Tokyo Artpoint project and the research going on at Miyakejima University at this Tokyo Art Research Lab-organised open seminar, which sees sociologist Fumitoshi Kato, artist Yasuaki Igarashi and Shinya Ominami, director of the Green Valley NPO, discuss the effects of art projects on local communities and what needs to be done going forward. The many projects centred at Miyakejima University have attempted to create spaces for networking and interactive learning, as well as forums for discovering and communicating the charms and resources of this remote island. This should be just the event for learning more about the current status of these enterprises.
