Sounds of Water

Sat Jul 19 - Mon Sep 15, 2014 Yamatane Museum of Art
横山大観《夏の海》1952(昭和27)年頃 紙本・彩色 山種美術館

Time Out says

Traditional Japanese art on the theme of the sounds of water fits perfectly with the hot summer. Curators at the Yamatane Museum of Art have picked out the best 'cooling' works from their collection, including pieces by both stars like Hiroshige and contemporary names like Hiroshi Senju, while painters such as Taikan Yokoyama, Seiho Takeuchi and Ryushi Kawabata represent the Taisho- and Showa-era Nihonga style at this exhibition. Note that parts of the display will be changed over the exhibition period.
