A welcome retreat from Shibuya’s brash Center-gai, Heikichi has a rustic, retro feel. The menu is typical of a modern izakaya, with one major difference – just about everything features negi (Japanese leeks). Unless you’re a big fan of the vegetable, then the ¥4,000 set dinner may be overkill. But don’t miss the negi-no-kuroyaki, charcoal-charred leek.
