Review

This is the place to go if you want to take a day trip to Turkey. That might sound impossible, but we really aren't exaggerating when claiming that you'll forget being in Tokyo or anywhere in Japan here. Zakuro is well-known for its unique 'you-can't-finish-it-all' dinner course for just ¥2,000, including free shisha for groups of three or more. Middle Eastern meat skewers, vegetable stews, Iranian tea, rice, salad, dried figs and sweet Turkish cream cakes will be carried to your table (a wooden plank on the floor) until you just can't take anymore. There's no written menu, so don't be shy to ask the waiters what else they have to offer. The owner, who's also the host of the daily 'party', will greet you with the brightest smile in the world as you step into the dimly-lit room decorated with colourful mosaic lamps. Be prepared, because he might even make you dance in front of all the other patrons before you have the chance to sit down – this is a place where you'll have to give it all you've got.
