Butcher-Otomo Duo

John Butcher

Time Out says

Using multi-tracking, feedback and his own technical virtuosity, John Butcher has pushed the humble saxophone into realms that most people wouldn't think the instrument could reach – it comes as no surprise to discover that the Londoner was a physicist before becoming a full-time musician. Butcher will be playing in a range of different settings during his Japan tour this month (see his website for a full schedule), but this duo with fellow boundary-breaker Yoshihide Otomo promises to be particularly interesting.
