Jim O’Rourke Six Days

Mon Jun 17 - Sat Jun 22, 2013 SuperDeluxe

Time Out says

Granted, he's no David Lee Roth, but Jim O’Rourke – former Sonic Youth member, Grammy-winning producer and unabashed saké lover – must rank as one of the capital's most famous expat musicians. Though he's a regular fixture on the Tokyo gig circuit, it's rare to see the Chicago-born multi-instrumentalist play under his own name here – let alone for a full six days, as he'll be doing at SuperDeluxe this month. Expect to hear a wide range of old and new music from O’Rourke's sizeable oeuvre, ranging from a never-performed string quartet piece dating back to his college days, to an all-new big band project and jazz trio. Diehard fans can get a pass for all six concerts, including a CD of unreleased material compiled by the man himself: email jimo6days@super-deluxe.com for reservations.
