The organisers of Guruguru Mawaru – Japan's only DIY music festival held at a bona fide stadium – return this June for a rather less ambitious event. The action shifts to Saitama Super Arena this time, though it'll be contained within the more modest confines of Toiro, formerly home to the John Lennon Museum (remember that?). Indie rockers, unhinged post-punk bands and left-of-centre idol pop acts do their thing across three different stages, and you'll find a fair few Guruguru Mawaru veterans scattered amongst the lineup. Look out for baroque-pop ensemble 4 Bonjour's Parties, accordion-wielding sisters Charan-Po-Rantan and proggy guitar band Lagitagida on the first day, then brace yourself for full-throttle sets from the likes of Gezan, Guitar Wolf and Limited Express (has gone?) on the second.
