There's something for everyone in Tokyo this New Year's Eve – even if your 'thing' involves gawping at girls in hotpants and figure-hugging T-shirts. Yes, mildly pervy 'family restaurant' Hooters will be throwing countdown parties at both its Akasaka and Ginza branches, for the benefit of people looking to start 2013 in the tackiest way possible. While the Ginza party (details here) sweetens the deal with DJs, free food and drinks, the Akasaka bash seems to be offering little more than the opportunity to 'welcome 2013 in the company of a perky Hooters girl'. We tried to imagine who might actually go to an event like this, but it just made us feel dirty and a bit depressed.
