Video artist Pedro Costa and sculptor Rui Chafes may not seem to have much in common, save for nationality and the amount of critical praise that's been lavished on their work. In fact, the Portuguese artists are close friends in private, and have been collaborating with each other in public settings since 2005. This joint show at the Hara Museum reflects another connection – a shared admiration for the late filmmaker Yasujiro Ozu, whose gravestone inscription, mu, gives the exhibition its title. Costa and Chafes will each be displaying five works, including three apiece that were created specifically for the exhibition.
