Burning Japan

Sat Oct 20 - Sun Oct 21, 2012 Tamagawa Camp Village, Kosuge-mura, Yamanashi Prefecture

Time Out says

Every year, nearly 50,000 people head to the Nevada desert for the infamous, open-source art and music festival that is Burning Man. Japanese fans of the event will be attempting to recreate some of the magic this month – in the rather less dramatic setting of a campsite in Yamanashi Prefecture – for the inaugural Burning Japan. One of a global network of regional Burning Man shindigs (check the Wikipedia page for a full list), the festival runs for 24 hours straight, and – in keeping with the principles of the original event – there'll be no money used on the site. It looks like the music and art side of things will also be a free-for-all, so if you like bongos, didgeridoos and psy trance, you're probably in luck. See the bilingual Burning Japan website for further details.
