Woody Mann

Sat Apr 14, 2012 Star Pine’s Café

Time Out says

Acoustic guitar virtuoso Woody Mann had a unique education in his art, studying under blues and ragtime legend Reverend Gary Davis before further honing his improv chops with jazzman Lennie Tristano. In keeping with the title of his latest Japan tour, 'Jazz, Blues & Beyond', the New York native isn't content to stay within any one genre for long, and might stray from fingerpicked country ballads to Portuguese fado in the course of a single night. He'll be playing solo and in duos with Japanese guitar-slinger Tokio Uchida at the intimate Star Pine's Café this weekend.
