Chiyoda Art Festival 2011

Chiyoda-ku's school-turned-art-hub has expanded on last year's 3331 Independents public exhibition, in what's sounding increasingly like an attempt to play Design Festa at its own game. Now retitled Chiyoda Art Festival 2011, the event lets budding artistic types – as well as performers and art market vendors – flaunt their wares to the general public, all for a modest fee. Last year's exhibition featured over 350 works, but with more space given over to the event this time around, you can probably expect even more than that at this one. The exhibition and performances will both be overseen by a panel of judges, who'll award scholarships (in the form of access to 3331 Arts Chiyoda's facilities) to the six worthiest candidates in each category.
