That's 'Xing' as in 'Crossing', natch. Curator Keisuke Sakurai is renowned for his knowledge of the contemporary dance scene, and with the annual Azumabashi Dance Xing he provides a drive-by digest of some of the best bits. The pitch is simple: each performer or group is given just ten minutes to do their thing, offering audiences a tantalising soupcon of their schtick without demanding their undivided attention for too long. The lineup doesn't stop at dance, either: the straight-up hoofers on this year's bill (Masako Yasumoto, Bokudeath) are far outnumbered by musicians, theatre groups and artists, including Ichiro Endo, Sachiko M and Akuma no Shirushi.
