It's being billed as a 'Freedom, Music, and Dance Carnival,' and we've got to admit that it looks very intriguing indeed. Kazunori Kumagai should probably need no introduction: the tap dancer is as prodigious as he is prolific, and given to collaborate with beatboxers and hip-hop DJs as well as more traditional bands. This weekend he'll be unveiling a new group, the K.K. Quintet, which enlists jazzers like Shinpei Ruike and Kiyoshi Ikeda. There'll be more fleet-footed action from Tappers Riot and K.T.S. Tappers, along with an impressive roster of special guests, ranging from veteran jazz and classical pianist Yosuke Yamashita to turntablist DJ Baku.
