Martin Haynes & Dennis Cahill

Fiddler Martin Haynes grew up steeped in the music of his native County Clare, Ireland, but it was in the US that he would find his true calling. On moving to Chicago in the 1980s, he met guitarist Dennis Cahill – himself the son of Irish expats – and together formed the fusion band Midnight Court before embarking on a fruitful creative partnership as a duo. Together, the pair reinvigorate traditional Irish music, with Cahill providing a sparse, unfussy accompaniment to Haynes' virtuoso violin work as they work their way through lengthy, multi-song pieces.
