Time Out says

The recent renovation of the Teien Art Museum returned the main building to its original art deco splendour, making the museum worth a look at all times. If you still haven't checked it out, now's the perfect time: visiting from the Musée du quai Branly in Paris, this exhibition explores the functions and beauty of masks, which have been used in rituals, as symbols of authority and as representations of the divine since ancient times and in cultures all over the world. Transforming wearers into performers and storytellers, they allow for access into a world beyond the material, blurring the borders between imagination and reality. Around 100 pieces from Asia, Africa, Oceania and the Americas are on display here – come wearing one of your own (non-surgical) masks and get ¥100 off the ticket price.
