If Tokyo's Oktoberfest onslaught doesn't take your fancy, head to Yokohama's Yamashita Park for a taste of Belgian beery goodness instead. Take your pick of over 60 different varieties, running from the workaday (Stella Artois) to the downright exotic (Kasteel Donker and Mystic Cherry). There'll also be live music courtesy of yet-to-be-named Belgian performers, as well as ample food offerings. No admission fee is required, but food and drinks are bought with tickets that must be purchased in bulk; the ¥3,100 'starter set' gets you a glass and eleven tickets. Buying your starter set in advance is highly recommended: the ticket queues on the day can be unbearable, and you even get ¥100 off the standard price.
