Time Out says

One of Japan's most celebrated photographers, Daido Moriyama is forever associated with his depictions of Shinjuku and its inhabitants. In the mid-1970s, however, he set out to discover Kunio Yanagita's Tono, the Iwate town where this great folklorist gathered legends for his classic Tono Monogatari. Moriyama's quest produced the landmark Tales of Tono book, first published in 1976 and made up of photographic meditations on the ideas of home, 'the countryside' and folk stories. This exhibition digs into the meaning of these haunting depictions and is a must for anyone interested in photography.
