Subtitled Russian Avant-garde and Soviet Modernism Seen in Posters, this interesting exhibition displays the work of theoretical painters like Wassily Kandinsky and Kazimir Malevich, as well as pieces by Soviet innovators such as the Sternberg brothers and Alexander Rodchenko. Drawn from the collection of Ruki Matsumoto, founder of the Ba-Tsu fashion brand, these posters include everything from abstract experimentation to the propaganda of socialist realism, providing a rare look at the revolution in Russian art that accompanied the political upheavals of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
