Kazumi Kurigami (b. 1936), perhaps best known as an advertisement photographer, has also been working on portraits since 1965. Colleague Yoshihiko Ueda has selected 50 of Kurigami's most memorable portraits, including ones of Robert Frank and Keith Richard, for this exhibition. The intensity of the pictures contrasts interestingly with the wide empty spaces of the venue, Gallery 916 in Takeshiba.
