Tachimichiya

Bars, Restaurants & Cafés

Review

This could almost be a template for the perfect rustic izakaya – rough-hewn wooden tables; tatami floored attic; saké galore; a smoky, bouncy atmosphere and first-rate Japanese pub grub – except the walls are covered in posters for the Ramones and the Sex Pistols, and the music is usually Japanese rock or punk. If that sounds intolerable, it’s not. Tachimichiya is a great izakaya that happens to rock.
