C'est Bien S&M shop

From the outside, Dogenzaka S&M stalwart C'est Bien looks like your classic seedy Soho sex shop. A small door with a lipstick-red sign opens onto a dark stairwell, where a spiked and studded mannequin guards a second door at the bottom. It all looks like something out of a film that doesn't end happily.

Once inside, however, it's rather tame. Sure, there are bondage ropes and studded dogcollars aplenty, but the cute woman behind the counter singing along to the AKB48 soundtrack rather diminishes the effect. The centrepiece is a phallus the size of a wrestler's arm (¥200,000) – for display only, surely. Then again, you never can tell in this city...
