Despite the name, this temple of the Soto Zen sect is not in Kichijoji – you'll find it close to Honkomagome Station in Bunkyo. In fact, the Musashino-shi place name originates from here, as residents from the area were relocated out west, to what is now Tokyo's most desirable place to live, after the great Meireki fire that devastated Edo in 1657.
