The Japanese restaurant, a jealously guarded secret by those in the know, is located ten minutes walk from the main entrance of Waseda University. It offers excellent and well-priced Japanese dishes with seasonal fish and vegetables. There is no set menu as such, and instead daily choices are offered by the managing chef, Riichi Matsushita. Lunchtime is extremely busy with office workers enjoying the daily fixed price menu, so arrive early before everything sells out. On the second floor is “Shyo-an,” a soba-restaurant style which serves Juwari Soba.
