If you're over six years old, don't expect to understand the appeal of this family restaurant near Shibuya's 109 fashion mall. Fujiya Restaurant is run by the eponymous confectioners, whose Peko-chan mascot – she of the pigtails and lolling tongue - adorns the walls. Kids will want to skip straight to the dessert menu, but there's also a good selection of savoury dishes, ranging from pasta and udon to bastardised Western fare such as hamburger steak in beef stew sauce. But the sweets are the main event, from squishy cream cakes to elaborate sundaes.
