Review

A haven for haberdashery enthusiasts, Shinjuku’s Okadaya offers seven floors of buttons, threads, lace, beads and rhinestone, alongside wigs, cosmetics and stage make-up. Head to the adjacent fabric shop for an additional six floors of cotton, linings, traditional Japanese materials and other specialist textiles. With such a vast array of products, it's no surprise that Okadaya is often thronged with students from the nearby fashion design schools, and even attracts top designers to its aisles.
