7: Floresta: Nature donut

The story goes that the couple who began Floresta Nature Donuts felt guilty about feeding unhealthy food to their children... and so decided to start a donut shop. If this is the case, we only hope the kids lived long enough to appreciate the gesture. The company prides themselves on using quality ingredients (the flour, eggs, salt and sugar are all organic and domestically produced), and the results are impressive, if not a tad oily on occasion. With this donut in particular, expect a small, well-formed creation, light and moist enough to demand the immediate purchase of a second. In short, this is your classic Japanese donut – not heavy on any particular flavour, just the right side of bland. Nature donut. ¥120. Available from Floresta Nature Donuts, at various locations across the city
