10 vended things to make you go hmmm...

Shinbashi: Taiyaki

Pack of two, 380 yen

Kyushu-based confectioners Tenka no Taiyaki specialize in soft, springy fish-shaped cakes, which come filled with red bean paste, custard or chocolate. Delicious either hot or cold, they're also available from a vending machine that stands proudly outside the company's first Tokyo shop in Shinbashi. Get your fish(-shaped cake) fix in packs of two or three varieties, priced at 380 yen and 570 yen, respectively.

Location: JR Shimbashi Station, by the Ginza Exit, in front of the Tenka no Taiyaki shop beneath the railway lines
