Located on Meiji Dori between Takeshita Dori and La Foret, Kebab Box has held a prime snack position for 10 years now, and few outlets manage to get as close to the original Turkish style as this one. The döner kebabs are huge, packed high with tomatoes, lettuce and a mix of chicken and meat. We dropped in for an early afternoon nosebag and found the sandwich big enough to constitute a large, sit-down lunch — almost impossible to finish. Huge portions, great sauces and a sense of authenticity mean that Kebab Box ought to hold onto their meaty crown for years to come.
Meat: The mixed meat kebab should fill anyone's stomach, and then some.
Pita: Big enough (and strong enough) to hold the contents of the average handbag.
Vegetables: Lettuce and tomatoes, but with a pleasing and unusual freshness.
Sauce: A good selection, with a nice eye on the traditional.
Price: 500 yen, and you feel as though he's undercharging.
