The legendary Japanese synth trio, featuring Ryuichi Sakamoto, Yukihiro Takahashi and Haruomi Hosono, are arguably the only Japanese band of capable of pulling off a Fuji Rock headline slot, and plenty of people (largely men of a certain age) will be shedding limbs to secure a place stage front. It's said that the floppy centre parting hairstyle favoured by so many middle-aged Japanese men took its influence directly from YMO — only properly seminal bands reach the follicles, too.
