It's been a while since our Kyary Pamyu Pamyu interview, but the ultimate Harajuku girl has not been at repose. She's been recording her very own mini album, Moshi Moshi Harajuku, which will hit stores and digital outlets on August 17.
Before that, there's the small matter of her debut single, 'PonPonPon', produced by Perfume and Capsule main man Yasutaka Nakata, which gets an iTunes release in 23 different countries on July 20, and a little birdy tells us she plans to stream her first ever live performance to the world on July 21.
If you simply can't wait that long, the promotional video for 'PonPonPon' is already out, and an odd piece of Harajuku-inspired surrealism it is, too, featuring blackbirds flying out of the teenager's mouth, the ultra-cute designs of Sebastian Masuda (6%DokiDoki), floating brains, melting eyes and, more disturbingly, what looks like backing dancers in blackface (though it has since been explained to us that they are, in fact, meant to be berries).
So, what do you think? Drop us a line via Twitter and let us know.
