Beck: Sexx Laws

Sexx Laws

Artist: Beck
Available on: Midnite Vultures
Time Out says: Musically, Beck went all Prince for his 1999 Midnite Vultures album, but his lyrics had a hint of Blonde on Blonde about them — a series of seemingly random images thrown together to freaky effect. And it's through the middle of all this Dylanesque freakery that a crowd of 'perfumed blokes on the Ginza line' slip by, unnoticed by many, but instantly recognisable to anyone who has seen the legion of effeminate 'hosts' bothering women in the Shibuya area. He's an observant lad, that Beck. We salute him.
