Time Out says: Arguably the most famous foreign ode to our city. More specifically, it's written about an intriguing being who the singer sees, somewhat disconcertingly, 'shining like a crazy moon'. The city itself is described variously as the 'neon gloom' and a 'city of light'. Thank goodness Ritchie Blackmore knew his way around a fretboard. Words were obviously never his strong point.
