'F*** me this guy has the best drums out,' reads a typical YouTube comment for one of the tracks that Blawan released on R&S Records last year – and it's hard to argue with the sentiment. Like Peverelist and Appleblim, the London-based producer has drifted from dubstep to something more closely approximating techno during the past few years, but it's a weird, frequently brilliant bastardisation of the genre (check the recently released 'Why They Hide Their Bodies Under My Garage?', possibly the freakiest floor-filler we've heard all year). For inventive, next-level techno action, this is going to take some beating. Takaaki Itoh and Go Hiyama play back-to-back in support, with further sets from Rok Da House and Nov.
