Time Out says

Niigata-born photographer Yusuke Yamatani, whose integration in underground communities both inside and outside Japan is evident from his raw and lively photos, started publishing his own work after moving to Nagasaki and encountering several experienced colleagues, including the famed Shomei Tomatsu. Yamatani challenges what photography means at this solo exhibition, where bits of hair and alcohol spills are left evident on the photographs after being placed on the floors of live houses.
