Review

With food this good, who needs variety? Roppongi Yotaro serves only one set menu, but it's simply divine. An independent offshoot of the original Yotaro in Osaka, where the chef learned his trade, this counter restaurant offers high-end seafood at high-end prices (the dinner course runs to ¥13,650). The meal starts off with sashimi and tempura, the latter cooked at low temperatures, Kansai-style, to produce a surprisingly chewy batter. Then it's on to the main event: tameishi, whole sea bream cooked with rice, a dish that's as simple as it is succulent and brimming with flavour.
