Kyary Pamyu Pamyu goes global

SPONSORED FEATURE

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's quest for kawaii world domination continues this weekend, as the pop star and fashion icon takes her 100%KPP World Tour to the US. It's actually the second time that she's played in the country – she appeared at the Rune Boutique party in LA at the end of 2011 – but Kyary's gigs at Club Nokia LA Live in Los Angeles and Best Buy Theater in New York mark her first proper live dates there. (‘if you don't already know who she is, you're like, soooo last month,’ opined Time Out New York, perhaps a tad ironically.)

If you want to keep track of the self-styled Fashion Monster's jaunts around the globe, ANA have been documenting them on a special site, as part of their current Is Japan Cool? campaign. Head to Kawaii The World to watch videos from Kyary's stops in Paris, London and Belgium, as well as browse photos of the impressively attired fans who turned up to watch them. (Kudos to the girl who recreated the make-up from 2011's Moshi Moshi Harajuku mini-album – that takes dedication.) There are further installments promised from her recent dates in Hong Kong, Taiwan and around Japan, plus the upcoming gigs in the US and Singapore.

And if you're going to a Kyary show any time soon yourself, you might like to check out this handy illustrated guide to doing the dance for ‘Tsukematsukeru’. All together now: ‘Pachi pachi tsukema tsuke-te!
