Jumping the gun by a few months, Japan's self-proclaimed 'earliest summer music festival' takes place before cherry blossom season has even started. After hosting its inaugural edition in Odaiba last year, Star Fes. will be taking the show to Kawasaki this March, with a lineup crowned by ambient dance veterans The Orb, Detroit house voyager Theo Parrish and Berlin club jazz act Jazzanova. The roster of homegrown artists features plenty of usual suspects (Denki Groove, DJ Kentaro, 80kidz, et al.), though they've also made space for up-and-coming instrumental quartet Rega and youthful beatboxer Daichi. Here's the full lineup:
Afra, Back Drop Bomb, [Champagne], Daichi, De De Mouse, Denki Groove, 80kidz, Mark Farina, Friendly Fires (DJ set), Hifana, Jazzanova feat Paul Randolph, Kaito aka Hiroshi Watanabe, Hiroshi Kawanabe, DJ Kentaro, Mouse on the Keys, Octave One, The Orb, Theo Parrish, Rega, Schadaraparr, Naoki Serizawa, Stephane K, Sugizo, Ryo Tsutsui
Open March 23
Time Doors 10pm. Gig 11pm
Admission ¥3,500 adv
