Barcelona's Sonar festival marks its 20th anniversary in 2013 with sister events in Reykjavik, Cape Town, São Paulo – and here in Tokyo. Now an established fixture on the yearly calendar, SonarSound Tokyo will be returning to Ageha in the first weekend of April, for another night and day of forward-thinking electronic music. Where the 2012 event focussed heavily on acts from the Warp Records and Ninja Tune stables, this year's lineup is looking more diverse and experimental, with appearances from electronica artists both new (Nicolas Jaar, Actress) and old (Underworld's Karl Hyde, LFO). Once again, Red Bull Music Academy will get a stage to themselves, where the highlights include Addison Groove, Space Dimension Controller and Kidsuke, Kidkanevil and Daisuke Tanabe's new collaboration.
April 6: Actress, Addison Groove, Agraph, Boys Noize (DJ set), Cosmin TRG, Alec Empire (DJ set), Kidsuke, Akiko Kiyama, LFO, Madegg, Hiroaki Oba, Sapphire Slows, DJ Sarasa, Sherwood & Pinch, Submerse, John Talabot, xxxy
April 7: Darkstar, Green Butter, Yosi Hirokawa, Karl Hyde, Illum Sphere, Nicolas Jaar, Nguzunguzu, Nisennenmondai, DJ Nobu, Om Unit, Sauce81, Space Dimension Controller, Shiro Takatani: CHROMA, Space Dimension Controller, Soichiro Tanaka, Toe, Tofubeats
