It's been 30 years now since The Hacienda first opened in a former warehouse – and, less salubriously, 15 years since it had its entertainments license revoked, after a litany of financial problems, drug busts and shootings. Once synonymous with acid house, the Manchester nightspot has endured in a bizarre afterlife, where its reputation as the spiritual birthplace of modern club culture is reinforced by nostalgia-soaked parties involving some of the acts who used to play there (and plenty more who didn't). Following on from a few well-attended parties in Tokyo, the concept is now being expanded into a two-day festival, which will be held at an outdoor swimming pool complex on the Shonan coast during Golden Week. He's joined by '90s indie staples The Charlatans, who'll be revisiting their 2007 album Tellin' Stories in its entirety, plus Detroit techno icon Carl Craig, Manc dance rockers The Whip, Sharam (of Deep Dish fame), X-Press 2 and many more. Here's the lineup so far...
