Chim↑Pom ‘Level 7 feat. Hiroshima!!!!’

Sat Dec 10 - Sun Dec 18, 2011 Maruki Gallery for the Hiroshima Panels

Time Out says

Provocative art collective Chim↑Pom got in hot water in 2008 when they wrote the word 'Pika!' (used in manga to represent nuclear explosions) in the sky above Hiroshima. But that was nothing compared to the controversy that erupted earlier this year, after they inserted an image of the Fukushima Daiichi plant into the corner of Taro Okamoto's 'Myth of Tomorrow' mural in Shibuya Station. The group's nuclear obsessions are laid bare in their latest exhibition, which includes works from their 'Hiroshima' and post-March 11 'Real Times' projects, plus a handful of new pieces. If you head there on the opening night, you can also catch a live collaboration between Chim↑Pom and Mr. Children producer Takeshi Kobayashi.
