Time Out says

Summer equals spooky in Japan, and there are few things more eerie than the ghostly scrolls at Zenshoan Temple in old town Yanaka. The 19th-century collection forms the core of this hair-raising exhibition at nearby Ueno's University Art Museum, where over 100 pieces mainly from the Edo and Meiji eras await fearless visitors. Contributors range from 1700s Kyoto painters Maruyama Okyo and Soga Shohaku to ukiyo-e masters Hokusai, Utagawa Kuniyoshi and Yoshitoshi, plus modern-era greats like Kyosai Kawanabe. Expect plenty of heat-beating chills and thrills at this one.
