Time Out says

After losing the vision in his right eye in October 2013, photographer Nobuyoshi Araki's style has evolved dramatically, and he's also become more playful in the way he presents his work. Araki's previous album 'Crush of the Left Eye' saw him deliberately paint the right side of his positives black, and the new 'Sesshin' series takes that theme even further: Araki cut his shots into halves and put different worlds together for diptychs that reflect his outlook on life and death.
