27 prefectures get together for this celebration of Japanese delicacies, held at the Odakyu department store in Shinjuku. There's a special focus on food that'll help you stay fresh and cool during the hot summer, including offerings like the shirokuma kakigori ('polar bear shaved ice') from Kagoshima maker Mujaki, and Morioka's famous cold noodles. Punch-packed bento boxes with grilled beef or Mie hitsumabushi eel are available as well, along with some foreign favourites like spicy Thai fare. For those wanting to enjoy summer festival food in an air-conditioned environment, there's no better place than this.
