Akihabra Urban Development X (to give it its full name) permanently changed the neighborhood when it opened in 2006, proving that there was big money to be made in Tokyo's otaku epicentre. The complex includes shops, restaurants, event spaces and a theatre and gallery, with 15 floors of offices above.
